SUMMARY:
Functional duties: Perform systems engineering duties in architecting, designing, integrating and testing aircraft and weapons systems. May conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of computer software and hardware to aircraft design and manufacture. May recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques. Performs the role of System Architect. Makes recommendations about Human Systems Engineering Department.
May also ensure project procedures and controls are followed, manage manning and staffing project efforts, and lead problem resolution efforts. Interfaces with system or program Contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of the programs/projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
BS or BA degree in a Technical Discipline as defined in section 3.4.4. (Degree REQUIRED, neither an associate's degree nor additional years of experience can be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Journeyman:
Required Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems, consisting of the design, development, integration and system testing of computer hardware, computer software, and navigation, sensor, and communication subsystems.
Senior:
Required Experience: At least ten (10) years of experience in Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems, consisting of the design, development, integration and system testing of computer hardware, computer software, and navigation, sensor, and communication subsystems.
